I was recently brought face to face with a bit of my own stubborness. Two of my long held - and completely unrelated – generalizations were challenged almost simultaneously. One may seem a bit flippant, the other more serious, but I spent a few weeks fighting back, tenaciously holding to my ideas. But in the end I succumbed and I am happy now to change my official stance on the following two points:
